Tuning Your Station

We have control of our realities based on the thoughts that we think. No one else can control our outer reality, because no one else has access to our thoughts. No one else has the power to think thoughts for us, only we do.
Everything in our universe is made up of energy. I'm talking everything: tables, people, trees, and even our thoughts. Science has confirmed this by measuring people's neuronal activity, using tools such as functional magnetic resonance imaging, to measure the frequency of thoughts. It has been shown that fear-based thoughts have a very low frequency, and thoughts of joy and love have an extremely high frequency.
One of my favorite Law of Attraction teachers, Abraham Hicks, has described an analogy that is perfect for explaining a concept that I wish to share with you today. Picture yourself as being a radio transmitter, and imagine that you are able to change your "stations" by changing the thoughts that you think. If you are thinking a thought of worry or doubt, then you have your dial tuned to a low station. It is a slow frequency. Instead if you think a thought of joy and appreciation, you are tuning into a higher station.
Now imagine our emotions as being a range of radio stations. For the purpose of the analogy, we will say our emotions range from 88.3FM to 105.9 FM. At 88.3FM we have thoughts based in fear and disempowerment. As we gradually tune the dial up, we go from hatred and rage to guilt and anger to frustration and irritation, to boredom. As we keep tuning up we reach hope, eagerness, excitement, enthusiasm, knowledge, clarity and love! Everyone is tuned to their own unique stations, and those stations vary moment to moment depending on the thoughts that we think.

The Law of Attraction says that like frequencies are attracted to each other. In other words, things that are tuned to the same station are going to coalesce, whereas things that are of different frequencies cannot come together. This has HUGE implications for our lives! If our thoughts determine the station that we are tuned to, and our station influences what we are attracting into our lives, then we MUST be able to control our reality because we have control of our thoughts. Most people are not very intentional in the thoughts they are thinking, so they just assume that things are happening TO them. We all have habitual and trained thought patterns from the environments that we grew up in, and often we are just offering the same smorgasbord of thoughts every single day. The beliefs that we hold are only the thoughts that we have repeatedly been thinking. What many do not realize is that we have control over our beliefs.
We can learn to offer our thoughts more deliberately. As we gradually practice this, our outer experiences will alter to match the change in our "station." If we like our outer reality, then we can just keep thinking the same thoughts and nothing will really shift. But if there is some area in your life that you do not like and wish to change, you have the power to do so by changing your thoughts on that subject. Here is an example to illustrate this:
Let's say you are really annoyed with your boss, because you feel as though she is taking away your freedom, and every time you think of them you contemplate how they are stealing your independence. In this case, the thoughts you are thinking are tuned to the "irritation and frustration station." If you wish to change your station to one of appreciation and love you can do so, but it is a gradual process. You cannot make the jump all of the sudden, and it is important to note that it is not so much the thoughts that you think as it is the FEELING behind the thoughts that you are offering. In other words, you cannot one day decide "I love and appreciate my boss now!" That is too big of a jump in vibrational frequencies. It is a more gradual process that can be achieved by deliberately reaching for better feeling thoughts.
In our example, you could begin to improve your thoughts about your boss by thinking, "Even though my boss bothers me, I do appreciate that she has given me an opportunity with her company. And if I think about it, I actually have more financial freedom because of this job." Rather than trying to force feelings of gratitude for your boss, you are gradually improving your thoughts about her in a believable way. The key to shifting your thoughts is to feel for the thoughts that bring you the greatest relief. The feeling of relief is an indication that you have gradually tuned your radio dial upward. If you practice this every time a thought comes up in your mind regarding your boss, before you know it you will have shifted your beliefs on the subject. Once you have shifted your energy, now when your boss comes into your experience at work she must be a match to your vibration if there is to be an interaction! If you have worked your way into a feeling of appreciation for her, she will only come to talk to you when she is also tuned into gratitude. And anytime she is is feeling irritated and wants to yell at someone, you will no longer be her "victim" because Law of Attraction will not put you together. Your rendezvous will be far more rewarding!

Starting today, why not become more deliberate in the thoughts that you offer? As I mentioned, it's not so much the thoughts as it is the feelings that matter, so begin to feel for more relief on subjects that typically do not feel great to you. As you practice deliberately shifting your "station," pay attention to the effect it has on your reality. I encourage you to keep a journal and note the slightest improvements in your reality as a direct result of your intentional shifting. By making note of the changes, you will not only feel empowered and prove to yourself the power of the Law of Attraction, but you will also add momentum to the improvements in your life. By focussing on these positive shifts (even the slightest ones), the Law of Attraction will bring you more and more evidence of them. The better it gets the better it gets!
It is important to mention that you do not need to monitor each and every thought and feeling. When I first became aware of Law of Attraction, I literally tried to change every thought that came up, which obviously made me feel a bit crazy! Instead, just make a slight effort each day to deliberately reach for better feeling thoughts and watch what happens. Prove to yourself how worthy and powerful you really are.
